Vets lining up for chow

On Saturday, December 9th, the Tellico Village VFW Post and Country Kinfolk Restaurant in Lenoir City collaborated to provide a delicious free buffet holiday luncheon to needy veterans and their families. Almost 70 attended dining on BBQ pork, BBQ chicken and a variety of salads. An extensive variety of homemade cookies and brownies prepared by Tellico Village residents topped off the bountiful meal.

In addition to several dozen attendees from the area, Tellico Village VFW Post members also transported 15 homeless veterans from Knoxville so they could enjoy the free meal.

Excess desserts were donated to a Loudon County jail ministry for use the next day during family visitation hours.

Good food and good conversation.

Post Service Officer John Lacko was the producer and said, “We hope to make this an annual event for needy area vets and their families.
