Dr. Snow Addresses Post 12135 on Lt. Bonnyman Recovery
Shown on the left is Dr. Rick Snow, is a forensic anthropologist and member of History Flight, an international non-profit organization that locates, exhumes, identifies and repatriates the remains of U.S. military personnel who have died fighting in foreign lands.
Dr. Snow and his team recently recovered the remains of Medal of Honor recipient and Knoxville native, USMC 1st Lt. Alexander Bonnyman, Jr., who died fighting on the island of Tarawa during WWII.
We were pleased to have him address our post at our October meeting and explain the complicated process of locating and recovering our post namesake.
