R.E.D. Friday – Flag Retirement Event
Order of the Day 010921. R.E.D. Friday – Flag Retirement Event.
The Tellico Village VFW Post observed R.E.D. Friday yesterday combining that with “retirement” of almost 500 unserviceable American Flags collected from the post’s three American Flag deposit boxes since the last “retirement” on Flag Day, June 14th.
The event was held at Wardrop Farms just outside the Village. Pictured above (L-R) are farm owner Rich Wardrop, post Adjutant Brian Mitchell and post Surgeon Rob Reinbold. Not shown are post members Ed Frandle and Jim Jorgensen.
R.E.D. Friday is intended to Remember Everyone Deployed. Thousands of U.S. military personnel are deployed all across the globe and its easy to forget them when the bullets aren’t flying. Combining R.E.D. Friday with the retirement of flags these warriors serve under and protect was thought to be a “natural.”
The next American Flag retirement event will take place on Flag Day, June 14, 2021.

I would like to know where the flag retirement boxes are located.
Thanks,
